Spring Flights

The next set of Flights will be held March 16-18, 2012 (Guys) and March 23-25 (Gals). These Flights will be held at a new location, Eagle Crest Salvation Army Camp in Washburn, IL. Check back for further information. Please be praying about friends, siblings, and youth that you know who might need to attend a weekend. We are accepting applications NOW, so feel free to send names in whenever you can get youth to commit.

The SonRise Chrysalis Board has decided to increase the registration fee for the weekend to $50. The actual cost of the weekend is about $150 per person, and we are asking that each sponsor pay at least $50 of that. Please consider when sponsoring multiple people finding a co-sponsor(s) to help out with the finances and support. Thank you.

Board Member Nominations

Chrysalis is looking for a few good men and women ages 15 and up! It's time to elect new board members for the Chrysalis board, and you will need a sponsor if you want your name on the ballot. Application and Sponsor forms can be downloaded here.

Some of the requirements include:

you cannot nominate yourself
this is a 3 year commitment
you cannot miss more than 6 meetings in one year, and preferably attend all of them
must have attended a recognized 4th Day weekend
you need to be an active member of the Illinois Heartland Emmaus/SonRise Chrysalis Community
be willing to serve on committees and attend RUSHes/Gatherings, etc.
be willing to serve as a board advisor on a Flight (for adults 24+)

The Chrysalis board is looking for adults, young adults (age 19-24), and youth (age 15-18) to serve on our board. Those applying should be committed to the Chrysalis movement and willing to make a commitment to attend meetings once a month to the best of their ability, as well as support other Chrysalis and Emmaus events as often as possible. Preference will be given to those who have served on Chrysalis teams, but anyone is welcome to apply. Is God calling you or someone you know to serve in some capacity to further the Chrysalis movement and fulfill its objectives?

Mime Communion Volunteers Needed

As part of every Chrysalis Flight/Journey, we have a special Saturday communion service called Mime Communion. It is solely a part of the Chrysalis movement.
What we are looking for are some men and women who are interested in doing Mime Communion on future Flights/Journeys. We will be needing two sets of Mimes each Flight, as the girls and guys will be completely separate (except for lunches, dinners and closing).
If you would be interested in attending training to be Mimes for Chrysalis, please let Joe Perring know.

Chrysalis Ministry Sponsor Application

SonRise Chrysalis is happy to announce that we are awarding sponsorships to encourage Chrysalis alumni in new ministries. Planning a mission trip; a career change into ministry or an outreach program in your hometown? We’d love to hear about it and possibly sponsor you. We encourage you to fill out the form informing us of your intent and need. Requests for 2012 will be accepted through the end of the year. A review board will select recipients based on ministry outreach, need, and available funds. We are prayerful that God will bless this program and use it to spread His kingdom here on earth through the power of the Holy Spirit and through your action.

Scholarships are awarded in increments of $50 and $100.
Awards will vary annually based on need and available funds.
